1) What was your childhood like?

Typical Midwestern family, Mom and Dad, older brother. Grew up in the 70s without helmets, video games or seat belts.  Very large extended family, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I loved our old house and the concept of entrepreneurship. I applied for a patent on a device which detected basement flooding in High School, it never developed.

2) Who was a hero to you growing up? Why?

My father. He was a self-made man. He persevered in business and more importantly in living life.

3) What are your hobbies?

Being a part of my two daughters’ lives, fitness, golf, and playing guitar.

4) How did you end up in metrology? Did you go to school for it?

I went to school for business, sales and marketing. I started in metrology with Brown and Sharpe, one of the oldest family held companies, in 1997. I managed a sales region in the Chicago region.

5) How did you come to be at API?

API has a very strong history in Metrology, and I was attracted to help preserve and grow the business.

6) What are your roles and responsibilities with API?

I am the Director of Business Development. My responsibilities are growth of business in Robotic Metrology Solutions (RMS) and Smart Factory Inspection Systems (SFIS) and continuing a culture of customer-centric service and solutions.

7) What sets API apart from other metrology companies in your mind?

API is unique among metrology suppliers because many of the conglomerates are publicly held with a focus on profit, whereas API is focused on their customers and innovation.

8) What API Product or Service are you most excited to tell people about?

API has one of the strongest technical Metrology Service organizations in the world.  We have a depth of applications which translate into one of the best technical sales organizations in the market.

9) What about API’s future excites you?

API has some very exciting technologies, which will be disruptive to the market. That is exciting!

10) What does “Nothing Beyond Measure” mean to you?

“Nothing Beyond” extends to infinity, and “Measure” is our focus. API has always been infinitely innovating in the metrology world.
